La Consultazione Regionale UNESCO sulle Politiche Culturali per l'Europa e il Nord America si inserisce nelle attività di preparazione della Conferenza Mondiale dell'UNESCO sulle Politiche Culturali – Mondiacult 2022, convocata dal Direttore Generale dell'UNESCO e che sarà ospitata dal Governo del Messico dal 28 al 30 settembre 2022.
A quarant'anni dalla prima Conferenza Mondiale Mondiacult sulle Politiche Culturali tenutasi in Messico City (Messico) nel 1982 e 24 anni dopo la Conferenza mondiale dell'UNESCO sulle politiche culturali per lo Sviluppo tenutosi a Stoccolma (Svezia) nel 1998, la Conferenza mondiale fornirà nuovo slancio per il dialogo politico globale sulla cultura per lo sviluppo sostenibile, guidato dall'UNESCO in linea con il suo mandato culturale di promuovere il libero scambio di idee e conoscenza incoraggiando la cooperazione tra i paesi come sancito dalla sua Costituzione.
