Specific Projects of research

Over the next four years, on going projects started in the previous four years term will be completed (the detailed list is given in annex 2), and new ones are expected to be launched in the areas of competence of the chair.

In the near future, the program of activities concerning the participation of the chair in the third world congress of transdisciplinarity (3WCT) will be completed:

 

 (III World Congress of Transdisciplinarity - virtual mode: WEEKS I-VI):

• Transdisciplinary Vision: CITIZENS OF THE EARTH. Human species communities of fragility (post-pandemic)
• Transdisciplinary Epistemology: SCIENCE FOR THE 21st CENTURY. Overcoming disciplinary antagonisms to rethink the reality of the 21st century
• Transdisciplinary Theory: RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF SPECIES FOR THE 21st CENTURY
• Transdisciplinary Devices: PROFESSIONALISM AND SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS. For a transdisciplinary ethics of human networks and community work
• Transdisciplinary Strategies: REDISCOVER AND RETURN TO CARE OF THE EARTH THROUGH EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND CULTURE
• Transdisciplinary Methodology: PARTICIPATING RESEARCHERS. The researcher as a change in the subject / object relationship

 

In the next two years the chair will be involved in the methodological study relating to projects with strong disciplinary integration operating in the health and territorial planning sectors, and that are in the start-up phase.

              

1) REPAIR project is a FET European project led by UNIFI, which exploits and integrates expertise from different fields to develop and test novel devices assisting cardiac contractile function. The novel idea puts together, for UNIFI, cardiac mechanics and electrophysiology, chemistry (liquid crystalline elastomers -based artificial muscle) and engineering (3D printing) excited by light (micro-LED) provided by INO-CNR. The transdisciplinary collaboration between UNIFI and INO-CNR has already published a prototype LCE-based artificial muscle that under external light stimulation is able to enhance cardiac muscle contraction. The REPAIR consortium consists also of European enterprises and academic experts in the field (https://www.repairheart.it).

2)ASVIS - Alliance for sustainable development network (https://asvis.it). In collaboration with Avventura Urbana, a company specialized in the management of complex and conflictual processes.
